Membership Options
In response to the decline in the number of officials nationwide for all sports, New York State has developed online courses to become a sports official. The MHVBGBO also offers in-person training for any prospective candidates during the months of October and November. You must choose to take the course in-person or online, complete the course, and then you will be given the process of how to register with BOCES and the state, and accept/decline assignments.
Requirements for membership are as follows:
1. Must be at least 18 years of age.
2. Live in Ulster or Dutchess County.
3. Be able to work high school games that start at 4:15 PM
4. Online training cost $50 which cover all materials needed to complete the course
5. After completing the on-line course you must join the local basketball officials board
